Man fatally shot in Del Paso Heights. Sacramento police investigating

A man was fatally shot in Del Paso Heights on Saturday, where the Sacramento Police Department responded shortly after midnight.

Police found a man with at least one gunshot wound who was transported to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries, according to Police Department spokesperson Officer Allison Smith.

Smith said there is no suspect information available at this time and the circumstances of the incident are still under investigation.

The incident occurred in the 900 block of North Avenue of Del Paso Heights. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name once his family has been notified, Smith said.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators took over the investigation, police said. Smith said investigators will be processing the scene, interviewing witnesses and canvassing the area.
