Sacramento man arrested after attempting to burn down home while it was occupied
A 37-year-man got into an argument with his parents, then tried to burn down their south Sacramento home Saturday evening while they were still inside it, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrived at the residence on the 3600 block of 45th Avenue for a welfare check at about 5 p.m. and were told that a fire had been started by a family member following a dispute with his 80-year-old father.
Family members were able to put out the fire, according to the press release, and the man was later taken into custody after initially leaving the scene.
He was taken to the Sacramento County Main Jail and is currently ineligible for bail, according to the news release.
