West Sacramento police investigating fatal shooting that left 1 dead

West Sacramento detectives on Tuesday continue to investigate a fatal shooting that happened Monday morning on West Capitol Avenue.

Officers found the gunshot victim about 1 a.m. in the 1400 block of West Capitol, where he was pronounced dead at the scene, West Sacramento Police Department said in a post to its Facebook page.

Department officials provided no further information. Yolo County coroner’s officials will identify the victim once the next of kin have been notified.
