A 19-year-old man is in the hospital and a teenage girl in juvenile custody following a stabbing early Monday in North Sacramento.

The man was taken to a hospital to be treated for his wounds and is expected to survive the knife attack, Sacramento Police Department officials said. Officers were called about 4:15 a.m. to the home in the 3700 block of Knightlinger Street in West Del Paso Heights, where they found the man with multiple stab wounds, according to dispatch audio reviewed by The Bee.

The 17-year-old suspected in the stabbing used a pocket knife in the attack, according to the dispatches. She was detained at the home and taken into Sacramento County juvenile custody to be booked on charges connected to the attack, said police officials.
