An Arden Arcade man was arrested Wednesday night after authorities said he struck his roommate in the head with a hammer during a dispute.

The attack happened about 9:30 p.m. at a home in the 4300 block of Laurelwood Way, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said. Deputies arrived to find a man bleeding from the head and were told the roommates were arguing before the attack, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The roommate, identified as a 53-year-old man, was arrested without incident and taken to Sacramento County Main Jail where he was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday afternoon on one charge of assault with a deadly weapon, according to jail records.
