Detectives arrested an 18-year-old man accused in a deadly shooting earlier this month in Sacramento’s Meadowview neighborhood.

Davian John David Sida of Sacramento was arrested on suspicion of homicide in the Oct. 16 shooting, the Sacramento Police Department announced Friday afternoon.

Sida was booked early Friday at the Sacramento County Main Jail. He was deemed ineligible for bail and was scheduled to appear for his arraignment Tuesday afternoon in Sacramento Superior Court, jail records show.

The shooting was reported shortly before 9:30 p.m. in the 2400 block of Meadowview Road, just east of 24th Street. Police said officers arrived at the scene and found a man, later identified as 21-year-old Matthew Jhameil Anderson of Sacramento, with at least one gunshot wound.

Officers attempted lifesaving measures until medics from the Sacramento Fire Department arrived at the scene, police said. Medics pronounced Anderson dead at the scene.

On Friday, the Police Department did not release any other details about Sida’s arrest or the homicide investigation.
