CHP officers investigating after man dies in Granite Bay two-vehicle crash

Roadway fatality

California Highway Patrol officers are investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred Saturday morning in Granite Bay.

A Granite Bay man driving a white Ford Mustang died after his car collided with a black Chevrolet Tahoe truck at 8:29 a.m. at the intersection of Eureka Road and Farschon Place, according to CHP Auburn spokesperson Officer Mike Hamilton.

The Tahoe driver, a Roseville woman in her mid-30s, was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries. Hamilton said it was not immediately clear whether alcohol played a factor in the crash. The victim’s identity was not immediately available.

Barton Road has reopened after authorities closed it to traffic while investigating, Hamilton said around 10:45 a.m.
