Ten days after a man was found dead in a major Sacramento intersection, police have arrested a suspect linked to the homicide.

John Anthony Rosario, 23, of Sacramento was taken into custody on Friday, according to a Sacramento Police Department statement. He was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on suspicion of murder and is being held without bail.

Officers responded to a report of an unresponsive person shortly before 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 2 at the intersection of Broadway and Stockton Boulevard. The man in the roadway was pronounced dead at the scene by firefighters.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office later identified the victim as Trevias Andre Minner, 60, of Sacramento.

Initial reports indicated Minner may have been struck by a vehicle. However, detectives launched a homicide investigation after determining the death resulted from an intentional assault.

Detectives said they obtained a homicide warrant for Rosario after what police described as “continued and diligent investigation.”

He is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Sacramento Superior Court.
