Lock down lifted at several Yuba County schools after threat to Olivehurst campus
Several schools in Yuba County were placed on lockdown Tuesday morning after a reported threat to Yuba Gardens Intermediate School in Olivehurst, authorities said.
The Yuba County Sheriff’s Office said it received a call about 8:30 a.m. reporting that a caller made a threat toward the elementary school on the 1900 block of 11th Avenue.
“While there is no evidence at this time of an immediate or credible threat beyond the phone call, we are taking the situation seriously and exercising an abundance of caution,” deputies said in a statement posted to social media. The lockdown was lifted around noon, authorities said.
“Following a thorough investigation and comprehensive search of the school campus, no threat was identified,” a county spokesperson said.
Other schools on lockdown were: Lindhurst High School, Johnson Park Elementary, South Lindhurst High School, Ella Elementary and Olivehurst Elementary.
A deputy was “stationed at each campus to ensure student and staff safety,” the Sheriff’s Office and county officials said.
