One man died and another was wounded Monday afternoon after they were stuck by gunfire in a shooting in Sacramento.

The shooting was reported shortly before 1 p.m. in the 3200 block of Marysville Boulevard, just north of Arcade Boulevard in Sacramento’s Hagginwood neighborhood.

Officers arrived at the shooting scene found the two wounded men who were both taken by ambulance to a hospital. One of the men was pronounced dead at the hospital, and the other man suffered serious injuries that were not life-threatening, said Officer Allison Smith, a Sacramento Police Department spokesperson. Smith said investigators did not have any suspect information to release. Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators took over the shooting investigation. Smith said the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting remained under investigation. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the name and age of the man who died after his family has been notified.
