Sacramento police investigating deadly shooting in South Natomas

Homicide investigation

One person died in a shooting Friday night in Sacramento, the Sacramento Police Department said.

Police received a call right before 9 p.m. stating that there was a shooting in the South Natomas community near Domino's Pizza on West El Camino Avenue.

Officers found one male victim with a gunshot wound, according to Police Department spokesperson Officer Allison Smith.

Smith said the victim was taken to a local hospital and was pronounced dead.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have begun their investigation. The department said they are processing the scene, canvassing the area and interviewing witnesses.

The Police Department said that the incident is under investigation and that no suspect information was available.
