Arrest made in October 2024 killing of Placerville man, El Dorado sheriff says

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office announced deputies have arrested a suspect in connection with an October 2024 homicide.

Joshua Lighthall, 47, of Sacramento, was arrested in Shingle Springs on suspicion of murder in the death of Tyson Fiddler, the Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.

“This arrest is the culmination of a lengthy and detailed investigation,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

Fiddler was last seen Oct. 5, 2024, the bar PJ’s Roadhouse, on the 5600 block of Motherlode Drive in Placerville, according to previous Bee reporting. His body was found five days later on Oct. 10.

“We greatly appreciate the patience and support of the community and those involved with this investigation as we work to find justice for Tyson,” the Sheriff’s Office wrote.

Lighthall remains held without bail at the El Dorado County Jail, according to the Sheriff’s Office roster. An arraignment date has not been set in El Dorado Superior Court.
