Roseville police investigating string of car break-ins at hotel parking lots

Police tape blocks entrance to a convenience store in San Luis Obispo County.

At least a dozen cars were broken into at multiple hotels overnight in a string of smash-and-grab burglaries, according to the Roseville Police Department.

About 10 vehicles were broken into at a Residence Inn in the 1900 block of Taylor Road in Roseville between 8 p.m. Monday and 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers said. At least two other car break-ins were reported next door at a Hilton Home2 Suites in the 1900 block of Freedom Way, police said.

Roseville police said the number could rise Tuesday as more people report incidents.

Police said burglars used tools to smash through the vehicles’ windows and were investigating possible connections to reported auto burglaries at Larkspur Landing Extended Stay Suites, also in the 1900 block of Taylor Road, authorities said.

Anyone with information can call the Roseville Police Department at 916-774-5000.
