An Arden Arcade man was arrested twice in one day after deputies said he was armed with a knife outside residents’ homes, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said they received calls Thursday evening reporting a man with a knife attempting to access homes in the Arden Park area along La Sierra Drive.

Deputies identified and arrested a 56-year-old man on Saturday. He was booked on suspicion of criminal trespassing, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office said the man was on felony probation but was not placed on a probation hold, resulting in his release from custody less than two hours after booking.

Hours after his release, North Patrol deputies responded to a business near Fair Oaks Boulevard and San Lucas Way after a report of the same man trespassing.

“Deputies arrived and located him on site, and he was taken into custody without incident,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post.

After the second incident, a probation violation hold was approved, and the man remained in custody at the Sacramento County Main Jail.

According to jail records, the man is expected to be arraigned in Sacramento Superior Court on Tuesday.
