Dutch Bros. Coffee sales to help families of slain deputies

Proceeds from sales at all nine Sacramento-area Dutch Bros. Coffee outlets Wednesday will go to support the families of two fallen sheriff’s deputies.

Sacramento County Deputy Danny Oliver and Placer Deputy Michael Davis Jr. were shot last week. Marcelo Marquez has been charged in both killings. His wife, Janelle Monroy, is charged as a murder defendant in the death of Davis.

“We were all so shocked by Friday’s events, many of the Placer County Sheriff’s are customers and friends,” said Jeremy Mauel, Dutch Bros. Auburn/Rocklin owner.

In addition to the day’s sales, donation buckets will be at each location.

“The sheriff’s department has always had our back. It is our time to have theirs,” said Nikol Grubbs, Dutch Bros. northeast Sacramento/Citrus Heights owner. “They are customers, but more importantly they are always looking out for the safety of our staff, which means more to us than we can say.”
