Yolo County sheriff-coroner’s officials have identified a body found in a slough near Clarksburg.

The coroner said Tuesday he is Andrew Phaouthoum, 21, of Sacramento. He suffered a gunshot wound to his head, according to the coroner.

Deputies found Phaouthoum’s body in a slough near Jefferson Boulevard and Courtland Road shortly before 11:30 a.m. Saturday. A fisherman spotted the body, authorities said.

Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Matt Davis said the case and possible motives were under investigation. There was no immediate word on how long Phaouthoum had been in the slough.
