A man was found dead under a tarp Friday afternoon in a driveway at a home in the Colonial Village area of Sacramento, police said.
Sacramento police officers found the victim in the 5500 block of Emerson Road, north of Fruitridge Road.
Sgt. Bryce Heinlein, police spokesman, said the department received a call at 12:19 p.m. from an area hospital, where a male had taken himself with stab wounds to his upper body that were not life threatening. Officers went to the hospital and learned that there was an additional victim at the Emerson Road residence, Heinlein said.
Officers arrived at the home and found a tarp in the driveway. When they pulled the tarp back, they found a man who showed signs of trauma, Heinlein said. He said Sacramento Fire Department personnel were called to the scene and pronounced the man dead. The identity of the victim is pending the coroner’s examination. No other victims were found in the home, but there were signs of struggle in the house, he said.
