Mont, Sacramento
A: No arrests have been reported in the Sept. 23 shooting death of 45-year-old Byron Darbonne during a home-invasion in a neighborhood near Highway 99 and Calvine Road in Sacramento County.
According to stories in The Sacramento Bee, Darbonne was killed about 5:45 p.m. when two armed men entered a home in the 8200 block of Auberry Drive. The intruders reportedly shot Darbonne, then left.
Sheriff’s officials said a woman who was in the house at the time did not know the intruders. She, along with her daughter, were able to flee out a back door of the house and go to a neighbor’s home to call 911.
When sheriff’s deputies arrived, they found Darbonne had died of his injuries.
