Fifth arrest made in Lake Tahoe killing in Beverly Lodge parking lot
A former Vallejo resident became the fifth person arrested in the January killing of a man in the parking lot of a South Lake Tahoe motel, according to the South Lake Tahoe Police Department.
Law enforcement officials in Oklahoma City arrested Dion Jermaine Vaccaro, 26, on May 20 in connection with the death of Dennis Wright. The 40-year-old man from Amador County was shot in the parking lot of the Beverly Lodge in South Lake Tahoe while trying to complete a drug deal, according to department press release.
Vaccaro was transported from Oklahoma to El Dorado County on Wednesday afternoon, where he remained in custody of El Dorado County jail.
Several arrests and murder charges have been made in the case in California, New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma.
Vanessa Muzio, 18, is charged with accessory to murder. The other four suspects, Harvest Davidson, Tristan Batten, Domenic Randolph and Tevarez Lopez, have all been charged with murder.
Investigators from the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office and the South Lake El Dorado Narcotics Enforcement team joined the South Lake Tahoe Police Department in the investigation, which is still ongoing.
According to the release, the South Lake Tahoe police expect more arrests. The murder weapon has still not been found, and suspects who have yet to be arrested are considered to be armed and dangerous.
