A: Scott Sequeira, 28, is awaiting trial in the death of 26-year-old Matthew Caquelin, whose body was found Nov. 25, 2015, in a field near Sacramento International Airport.
A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for July 28, according to Sacramento Superior Court records available online.

Sequeira, a Sacramento resident, was arrested Dec. 16 in Newman in Stanislaus County. Sacramento County sheriff’s officials said at the time of the arrest that they believed Sequeira and Caquelin knew each other, but they did not know the motive for the killing.
Caquelin was shot in the torso. His body was spotted by a work crew driving by the field near West Elverta Road an Metro Air Parkway.
