Greyhound bus with 37 on board slides 300 feet off road and overturns, Utah cops say
At least 20 people were sent to the hospital after a Greyhound bus overturned on Monday, Dec. 27, Utah officials said.
The Utah Department of Public Safety said a Greyhound bus heading to Las Vegas on Interstate 70 slid about 300 feet off the road before overturning. The crash happened about 11:47 p.m..
At least 37 people and the driver were on board the bus, according to the department. About 20 people were taken to the hospital.
“The patients were transported with injuries varying from serious condition to minor, none of them appear to be threatening injuries,” officials said in a news release. “Emery County Sheriff’s Office setup a church in the town of Emery for the non-injured passengers to be taken to.”
The bus was traveling from Green River, Utah, a town about 180 miles southeast of Salt Lake City.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, officials said.
