He got a snack and a lottery ticket before running errands — and won $2M in Missouri
Winning $100 from a lottery ticket led to a much bigger prize when a Missouri husband decided to use $20 to buy a second ticket later that same day.
On his way to run errands with his wife, the man stopped at a Murphy Oil convenience store in Warsaw to grab a snack and a “$2,000,000 Extreme Cash” ticket with a portion of his earlier winnings, according to a Missouri Lottery news release.
With his new Scratchers ticket in hand, he joined his wife in the car and began to scratch it off, officials said. The couple was quick to notice they had won a huge prize.
“I don’t know how else to explain it, I was at a loss for words!” the man told lottery officials. “It was so special.”
The husband and wife, who both remain unnamed, had won the top $2 million prize.
Having already expressed interest in starting his own business, the man told Missouri Lottery he plans to use some of their winnings to bring that dream to life.
“I’m going to invest this money into a business and turn it into more money,” he said.
Warsaw is about 110 miles southeast of Kansas City.
