Crash into moose kills motorcyclist fleeing police at 100 mph, Alaska officials say
A Wasilla motorcyclist trying to escape a ticket slammed into a moose at 100 mph and died, Alaska police reported.
Officers had tried to pull the 36-year-old man over on suspicion of speeding and running a red light, among other infractions, but he sped off at 3:55 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, a Wasilla police blotter said.
The man fled at a speed over 100 mph before slamming into a moose, police said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said.
The collision also killed the moose, police told the Anchorage Daily News.
