Mom screams so loudly at big Maryland lottery win that her co-workers go check on her
A Maryland mom was recently at work when she took a second to scratch her Lucky Times 10 lottery ticket.
The 48-year-old said she is a regular lottery player, and she has a lucky penny that she uses on all her scratch-off tickets, according to a May 1 Maryland Lottery news release.
In the past, the lottery player has won a $100 and $500 prize in the game, she told officials. This time, her prize was much bigger: She scored $50,000.
“I started to scream and had to shut my door. My co-workers asked me if I was okay,” she said. “I still can’t believe it.”
Once she had calmed down, the winner said she called her daughter and husband to tell them the news. Now, the mom said she plans to use her prize to renovate a new condo she just bought with her husband.
The winning ticket was bought at Giant in Rockville, Maryland — about 20 miles northwest of Washington, D.C.
