Driver killed when her pickup truck is pushed off bridge in crash, Kentucky cops say
A Kentucky woman is dead after her pickup truck was pushed off a bridge when multiple vehicles collided on a highway, officials told news outlets.
It happened Oct. 31, when several vehicles began slowing down on Interstate 275 because of heavy traffic. As some vehicles tried to switch lanes, multiple vehicles collided, Wilder police told WLWT.
The crash caused a semitruck to overturn and slide along the highway, police told WXIX.
During the collision, 32-year-old Cheryl Kidwell’s pickup truck was pushed over the side of Licking River Bridge, police said, according to WCPO.
Her truck fell to a wooded area below, WLWT reported.
Kidwell was pronounced dead at the scene, and officials say there was no one else in the truck, WXIX reported.
“I hope you’re dancing and singing up there. Can’t wait to see you again. I love you forever,” Kidwell’s wife posted on Facebook.
Kidwell was a mother of one son, according to her obituary.
“It’s just not fair that true happiness for you, was so short lived. I pray you knew just how loved you were, by so so many,” Kidwell’s sister wrote on Facebook.
Six vehicles were involved in the crash, Wilder Fire Chief Doug Neyman told WCPO. Four other people involved in the collision were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to WLWT.
The crash is still under investigation, WXIX reported.
