Woman used lottery game winnings to buy $20 ticket. It left her dancing in the store
An Arkansas woman was left dancing after she saw her huge lottery win.
The Charleston woman bought the $20 scratch-off game at a store in Fort Smith, according to a Feb. 12 news release from the Arkansas Lottery.
She used winnings from another instant game to buy the ticket.
“The ticket caught her attention when it launched, and on Monday afternoon, the player decided to try her chances,” lottery officials said.
The woman scratched the ticket in the store, but she was only looking for an “instant win” symbol, the lottery said. When she didn’t see the symbol, she decided to scan the ticket.
That’s when she received a message that said to collect her prize at the ASL Claim Center.
The woman looked at the ticket again and she saw one of her numbers matched the winning numbers. That’s when she realized she won the $50,000 Frenzy instant game’s top prize.
“Now, hold on,” she thought, according to the lottery. “Wait a minute!”
The woman celebrated by dancing inside the store, lottery officials said. Then, she shared the news with her husband and family.
She said she plans to take a vacation with her winnings.
Fort Smith is about a 120-mile drive southeast of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
