Lottery player wins top prize — his second in under two months. ‘Crying tears of joy’
A Maryland lottery player took home a top prize from a scratch-off ticket — his second in under two months.
As the Greenbelt man scratched his $5 Lots of Cash ticket while he was home with his wife, he noticed he matched a winning number, Maryland Lottery officials said in a Feb. 18 news release.
That match came with a top prize of $50,000.
“We were happy and crying tears of joy,” the subcontractor told lottery officials.
Less than two months earlier, the man also won a top $50,000 top prize on a $5 20X The Cash scratch-off ticket, lottery officials said.
The winner told lottery officials “he can’t believe that he won twice.”
“I will see you again next month,” he said in the release.
Greenbelt is about a 30-mile drive southwest from Baltimore.
