9-year-old finds mom shot dead in Ohio bedroom, US marshal says. Man now arrested
A man was arrested nearly a year after a 45-year-old woman was found dead in an Ohio home, the U.S. Marshals Service said.
Cleveland officers responded to a home in March after a 9-year-old child found her mom, Tosha Williams, 45, dead in bed, according to a Feb. 20 news release.
Williams was found with a gunshot wound to her neck, officials said.
A suspect, later identified as 47-year-old John Booth, was arrested Feb. 20 in Houston, Texas, after authorities learned he fled the state, marshals said.
Authorities didn’t say if Booth knew Williams or what led to the shooting.
“Sadly, the senseless incident this fugitive is being accused of left a child without a mother. Hopefully the arrest today will bring her one step closer to receiving justice for her mother’s death,” U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said in the release.
