Wife thinks Valentine’s Day lottery win is ‘trick ticket’ — but it’s a sweet surprise
A husband surprised his wife with an Arkansas lottery ticket on Valentine’s Day, but the woman was instantly skeptical when she scratched off the ticket.
“You’d better look at this,” the woman told her husband when she noticed a “20X” symbol on her ticket.
The $20 ticket purchased in Russellville turned into a $50,000 win, Arkansas lottery officials said in a Feb. 25 news release.
Her husband was shocked — but she still didn’t believe it was real.
“Is this a trick ticket?” she asked him. “Are you playing a joke on me?”
Her husband reassured her that the ticket was a sweet surprise, and the pair rushed to a retailer to officially confirm their prize.
Customers in the store cheered as the duo announced their big win.
“It definitely was a memorable Valentine’s Day,” they told lottery officials.
The couple plans to save their winnings.
Russellville is about a 75-mile drive northwest from Little Rock.
