An Arizona man is accused of secretly filming sex with women he met on dating apps, police said.

Julian Nixon, 43, was arrested July 30 in Scottsdale on dozens of charges, police said in a probable cause statement.

His ex-girlfriend prompted the investigation after police said she found three Apple iPhone boxes spread around in his room on March 16.

She told authorities she looked inside two of the boxes, which had been cut out so a phone camera was visible, police said.

One phone box faced the headboard, the second container was positioned on a table across from the bed, and the third box was “at the end of the bed’s dresser,” police said.

Detectives got a warrant and searched his apartment May 7.

At the time, Nixon told police he had filmed sex acts with women he met from dating apps, authorities said in the documents. He said he did this to “protect himself” in the event a woman claimed he abused or raped her, police said.

Investigators said they found 110 videos of victims dating back to 2016.

Nixon kept these videos in an album in his personal phone, police said.

Four women identified in the videos told authorities they did not allow Nixon to record them, police said. They told authorities they met him on dating apps and from singles events.

Police said there were other women in the videos who were not identified.

Nixon was arrested on 24 counts of voyeurism and unlawful viewing, taping and recording. His bail was set at $75,000.
