A man is sentenced to prison after being convicted in the assault and kidnapping of a man, New Mexico officials said.

In June 2024, Sergio Silguero is accused of beating a man at an Albuquerque apartment building, KRQE reported.

Silguero forced a gun into the man’s mouth and recorded the “brutal attack”, then saved the videos to social media, according to an Oct. 22 Facebook post by the Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office.

The man told investigators that he was eventually able to escape the apartment through a patio door, the Albuquerque Journal reported.

Investigators later found the video of the attack on Silguero‘s Snapchat account, the outlet reported. He told investigators that, though his voice was heard in the video, it was “the only involvement he had.”

Attorney information for Silguero was not immediately available.

In June 2025, a jury found Silguero guilty on charges of kidnapping and conspiracy, prosecutors said.

He was sentenced to 30 years in prison, prosecutors said.
