California ballot propositions: Abortion amendment passes. See how other measures fared.

Here are the latest results for ballot propositions in California’s midterm election. The numbers are preliminary and subject to change, with mail-in ballots coming in until Nov. 15.

Proposition 1 would enshrine the right to contraception and abortion in the California Constitution.

Yes: 68.1%

No: 31.9%

California lawmakers placed the question on the ballot following the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision overturning Roe v. Wade, which handed individual states the power to regulate abortion.

Proposition 26 would legalize sports betting at tribal casinos and certain race tracks.

Yes: 29.5%

No: 70.5%

The measure was promoted by a coalition of California Native tribes, but opposed by a consortium of card room groups.

Proposition 27 would legalize sports betting on computers and mobile devices.

Yes: 16%

No: 84%

The measure was promoted by FanDuel and DraftKings and opposed by many California tribes.

Proposition 28 would provide more funding for K-12 arts and music education.

Yes: 63%

No: 37%

The proposal doesn’t create a new tax but instead redirects existing funding.

Proposition 29 would require licensed medical personnel to be on-site at dialysis clinics in the state

Yes: 30.1%

No: 69.9%

This is the third time that the ballot measure has come before voters in four years.

Proposition 30 would tax the rich to pay for electric vehicle infrastructure and more firefighters.

Yes: 42.7%

No: 57.3%

California Gov. Gavin Newsom came out against the measure in September, opposing his own party and aligning with California Republicans.

Proposition 31 would ban the sale of most flavored tobacco products in the state.

Yes: 64.6%

No: 35.4%

The tobacco industry sought to challenge a law banning flavored tobacco products that was passed by the Legislature in 2020.
