Watch the debate between Democratic incumbent Ami Bera and Republican Scott Jones for the 7th Congressional District.
The race is one of the most hotly contested this election season. The 7th Congressional District includes eastern Sacramento County, Folsom, Rancho Cordova and Elk Grove.
The one-hour debate, at KVIE headquarters in Sacramento, was moderated by Jason Shoultz of McClatchy. The panelists: Bob Moffitt, Capital Public Radio reporter; Dan Smith, Sacramento Bee Capitol Bureau chief; and Zainub Tayeb, a student journalist for The Talon at Folsom Lake College.
The debate was sponsored by The Sacramento Bee, Capital Public Radio, KVIE Public Television, and Folsom Lake College and the Los Rios Community College District.
