See court request that led to a restraining order against SEIU Local 1000 union president
A Sacramento County Superior Court judge issued a restraining order last week against the president of California’s largest state employee union.
Judge Steven Gevercer instructed SEIU Local 1000 president Richard Louis Brown to stay out of the union’s headquarters building, to return documents he had removed and to stop exercising powers of the union presidency.
Gevercer issued the order in response to a request from Bill Hall, a board member whom the union’s board of directors has selected as its chairman. The order followed a dramatic series of events including Brown and his supporters entering the union’s Sacramento headquarters building without a key after three union vice presidents locked Brown out. The VPs had moved to suspend Brown’s presidency.
