Companies Seviroli Foods, Relish Foods and Poppies International have recently recalled certain food products that were distributed in California.

The recalls include plant-based meal kits from Seviroli, tuna steaks from Relish and cream puffs from Poppies.

Here’s what we know about the recalls:

Seviroli Foods, Inc and its Aplenty Rotini with Plant Based Bolognese Meal Kit, 24 oz

According to the Food and Drug Administration, Seviroli Foods recalled its Aplenty Rotini with Plant Based Bolognese Meal kit on Dec. 26 because of undeclared milk.

The recalled meal kits have a sell-by date of May 28, Jun. 10 and Jun. 11, 2022.

On Dec. 22, the company discovered that the meal kits that contained milk were “inadvertently packaged” and labeled as “Aplenty-Rotini with Plant Based Bolognese Meal Kit.”

There haven’t been any adverse reactions or illnesses reported.

The products were sold in-store and online at Amazon Fresh. They have since been removed from shelves.

Relish Foods and its Frozen Pacific Fusion Brand Tuna Steaks, 10 oz

Relish Foods voluntarily recalled its Frozen Pacific Fusion Brand Tuna Steaks due to high levels of histamines, according to the FDA.

The tuna steaks were distributed in Northern California and sold at Save Mart Supermarkets and Lucky Stores from October to November.

The production date was July 2021, the best before date is July 2021 and the production code is R11G2821D22A D2091A. This information is labeled on the packaging in the top right corner.

The Los Angeles-based company issued the announcement after a consumer complaint. The FDA sampled the product and found that it contained “elevated levels of histamines which can produce an allergic reaction called scombroid food poisoning.”

Symptoms of scombroid poisoning include flushing, rash, headache, dizziness, sweating and burning of the throat and mouth. There may also be gastrointestinal reactions, such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

Relish Foods Inc is investigating the cause with FDA, according to the release.
