Only in a California beach town: ‘Fan’ asks council to make Britney Spears ‘stoked again’

The “concerned citizen” began his address with: “Whaddup, council? I love your city of Manhattan Beach. You have great bros.”

He then asked the city to help make pop star Britney Spears “stoked again.”

Video streamed by the council shows Chad Kroeger, a character played by comedian Tom Allen, standing in front of the committee to talk about the difficult time Spears went through recently.

The singer just spent 30 days at a mental health facility, according to “Us Weekly.”

Allen suggested the city should rename its water treatment center the “Britney Spears Toxic Water Center” to pay “homage” to the star, who was his teenage crush and “his first and greatest love.”

He explained to the council that the name would be a nod to her hit single “Toxic.”

His “associate,” John Parr, took to the stand to sing a rendition of the song.

Some on the council appeared slightly amused, others not so much. The council thanked both men for their participation.
