A 414-acre farming estate along the Pacific coast – with 3,000 feet of secluded beach and a mile of private coastline – is for sale for $19 million, after a $6 million price cut.

The property, 40 miles south of the San Francisco in Pescadero, lies next to the historic Pigeon Point Lighthouse along Highway 1 in San Mateo County.

The prime oceanside real estate has been preserved for farming, wildlife, and recreational users, according to the listing with California Outdoor Properties. The owners for decades planted and harvested Brussels sprouts, fava beans, leeks and peas.

“The property sits in a rare location and is very special,” John Ward, the listing agent, told sfgate.com. “That given, we believe the original listing price was still a bit high, as this could potentially be a second home for someone, so we think the asking price needs to be under $20 million.”

Muzzi Family Farms of Salinas has worked the land for over six decades, SFGate reported, and now wants to sell and focus on farming in Sacramento.

The listing notes a buyer could develop the grounds into a corporate retreat, continuing the farming operation, take advantage of a farm-to-table opportunity, expand the primary residence or build a second home.

The ranch offers six “modest” houses, according to the listing, a historic barn, outbuildings and a 12,000 square-foot packing facility. A 5-acre parcel could allow for a custom-designed main house, as well.

A top selling point is the location and access to the Pacific Ocean. The land is near Silicon Valley, Pebble Beach and international airports.

Bolsa Point Ranch is protected by POST (Peninsula Open Space Trust) land conservation agreement, which guarantees the preservation of open space and prohibits the property to be sold to a commercial or housing developer, according to California Outdoor Properties.
