CSU applications extended for California students in wildfire areas
The California State University system on Tuesday announced that will extend the application deadline for college applicants from fire-ravaged regions in both Northern and Southern California.
CSU is presently accepting applications to all 23 campuses for the fall 2019 academic term. The priority application period normally ends on Nov. 30, but will be extended to Dec. 15 for qualifying applicants who have experienced hardship as a result of fires such as the Camp Fire, Woolsey Fire and Hill Fire.
“In addition, applicants will also be granted a coupon code, which will waive the application fee for up to four campuses,” according to a CSU statement.
The hardship request must be made to calstateapply@calstate.edu, with a subject line of “Extension Request – Fire Event” before the Nov. 30 initial deadline, and students should also complete the following steps: Create an application profile at calstate.edu/apply and add the desired programs to their application.
