How much is it going to rain in Sacramento this week? Here are the latest predictions
Rain is finally falling in Sacramento.
According to the National Weather Service, about a quarter to a half of an inch is expected to fall Tuesday. Showers began around noon and there’s a 30% chance of more, mainly between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. Lows will be around 44 degrees overnight.
The last time it rained in the city was Sept. 21 with .07 inches of precipitation. While October 2021 saw record rain, none fell last month, putting Sacramento far below its normal.
Chilly and windy temperatures are forecast to continue into Wednesday and pick back up Saturday.
Wednesday will be mostly sunny with highs at around 59 degrees and lows at around 40. Temperatures for Thursday are expected at 60 and Friday at 62.
There’s a chance of showers over the weekend with highs in the 60s.
We are in our third year of La Niña, which means don’t expect too much rain this winter. Mild temperatures and drier than normal conditions are expected across California.
