More rain is on its way to Sacramento. Here’s when it could start — and how long it may last
Take advantage of the sunny weather while it’s around, because more rain is predicted for Sacramento.
The National Weather Service predicts another storm this weekend — though it’s weaker than the last round, said meteorologist Idamis Del Valle-Shoemaker.
Sacramento saw 11 consecutive rainy days in March, bringing the city above its normal rainfall for the month with 3.02 inches.
It’s not over yet.
Weekend forecast
Expect sunny skies with 60 degree temperatures for Thursday and Friday. Come Saturday night, a weaker system will roll through the region and bring light showers into Sunday.
“For Sacramento, we are expecting less than a quarter of an inch of rain,” Del Valle-Shoemaker said.
Temperatures over the weekend will remain in the 60s with overnight lows dipping to 48 degrees on Sunday night, according to the weather service.
Next week
Rain is likely through at least Wednesday.
“We’re expecting a stronger system early to mid next week that could bring widespread precipitation, heavy mountain snow and gusty winds,” Del Valle-Shoemaker said.
Starting Monday and into Wednesday, meteorologists predict rain with temperatures teetering between 40 to 50 degrees.
