Este esperado restaurante mexicano está contratando personal en Fresno. ¿Por fin abrirá?

Una de las inauguraciones de restaurantes más esperadas del año en Fresno está un paso más cerca de hacerse realidad.

Toledo’s Mexican Restaurant está contratando.

Y eso significa que, una vez que los trabajadores sean contratados y capacitados en unas pocas semanas, finalmente abrirá sus puertas al público.

Todavía no se ha fijado una fecha de apertura, pero Toledo’s prevé abrir a mediados de noviembre, según informó en un comunicado de prensa.

El popular restaurante familiar tiene otras dos sucursales en el área, una en el noroeste de Fresno en las avenidas Herndon y Milburn, y otra en Clovis en la avenida Shaw.

Muchos habitantes de Fresno eran fanáticos del antiguo local en la avenida Blackstone Norte que fue demolido en 2019. Durante 27 años, fue conocido por su patio único y grande, con árboles que crecían en el medio.

En 2018, la familia Toledo anunció planes para una ubicación “más grande y mejor” para reemplazarla en las avenidas Cedar y Nees.

Pero la pandemia y las interrupciones en las líneas de suministro de construcción retrasaron considerablemente sus planes.

Las obras ya están en marcha. El nuevo local no tendrá patio, pero planean trasladar el ambiente de patio al interior, con candelabros que cuelgan de una pérgola en el interior y grandes ventanales. También hay enormes obras de arte de cristal colgadas del techo.

Tendrá una barra con asientos completos, algo que el local anterior no tenía.

Puestos de trabajo en Toledo’s

El restaurante quiere contratar a 40 nuevas personas.

Todos los puestos están disponibles, incluidos cocineros, camareros, ayudantes de camarero, anfitriones, gerentes, lavaplatos y camareros.

Toledo’s realizará entrevistas a personas que buscan empleo en la nueva ubicación en 8020 N. Cedar Ave. de 1 p. m. a 6 p. m. el viernes 18 de octubre y el lunes 21 de octubre.

También hay puestos vacantes en otras ubicaciones y los solicitantes están invitados a asistir a los eventos de contratación.

El nuevo restaurante ha tenido un cartel que decía “Próxima apertura… más o menos” y otro que decía “¡Esto está sucediendo!” en su exterior durante meses. Ahora planea cambiar los carteles a “¡Terminando!” y abrir pronto después.

One of the most highly anticipated restaurant openings of the year in Fresno is one step to closer to happening.

Toledo’s Mexican Restaurant is hiring.

And that means — once workers are hired and trained in a few weeks — it will finally open its doors to the public.

No opening date has been set yet, but Toledo’s is shooting for mid November, it said in a news release.

The popular family-owned restaurant has two other locations in the area, one in northwest Fresno at Herndon and Milburn avenues, and another in Clovis on Shaw Avenue.

Many Fresnans were fans of the former location on north Blackstone Avenue that was torn down in 2019. For 27 years, it was known for its unique and large patio, with trees growing through the middle of it.

In 2018, the Toledo family announced plans for a “bigger and better” location to replace it at Cedar and Nees avenues.

But the pandemic and disruptions in construction supply lines majorly delayed their plans.

Work is now back on track. The new location won’t have a patio, but they plan to bring the patio vibe inside, complete with chandeliers hanging from a pergola indoors and large windows. Huge glass art is also already suspended from the ceiling.

It will have a full sit-down bar — something the old location didn’t.

Jobs at Toledo’s

The restaurant wants to hire 40 new people.

All positions are available, including cooks, servers, bussers, hosts, managers, dishwashers and bartenders.

Toledo’s will be doing interviews with job seekers at the new location at 8020 N. Cedar Ave. from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18 and Monday, Oct. 21.

Open positions are also available at the other locations too and those applicants are invited to come to the hiring events.

The new restaurant has had an “Opening soon ... ish” banner and one that read “This is happening!” on its exterior for months. It now plans to change the banners to “Wrapping it up!” and open soon after.
