Sports Night: 49ers’ first practice is Saturday

49ers: Five questions the team faces in training camp

The Bee’s Matt Barrows addresses the five following questions the 49ers hope to answer during training camp: 1. Can a retooled Colin Kaepernick master a retooled offense? 2. Who will protect the quarterback? 3. What does inside linebacker look like without Patrick Willis? 4. How will a rebuilt secondary perform in 2015? 5. What will a Jim Tomsula-led training camp look like?

Giants: They continue to roll with 5-0 win over Brewers

The Giants are still open to making a trade before Friday’s deadline even as they remain one of the hottest teams in baseball thanks in part to their two biggest deadline acquisitions of the past three years. Jake Peavy pitches six scoreless innings and Hunter Pence has two key defensive plays and the tiebreaking hit in the Giants’ 5-0 win over the Milwaukee Brewers.

Andy Furillo: Giants have a talented trio

It might be too soon to talk about catcher Buster Posey as MVP, right-hander Chris Heston as Rookie of the Year or shortstop Brandon Crawford for a Silver Slugger Award. However, their contributions to the Giants deserve consideration.

A’s: Dodgers rally to win

Pinch-hitter Kike Hernandez delivers the go-ahead, two-run double during the Dodgers’ five-run seventh inning, and Los Angeles rallies from a three-run deficit for a wild 10-7 victory over the A’s.
