The alternate jersey uses the Athletics’ traditional gold base with green script lettering and includes the club’s logo on the sleeve. While it mirrors the team’s current uniforms that read “Athletics,” the wordmark has been swapped for the name of the club’s interim home.
“Sacramento has welcomed the Athletics with incredible passion and support. The new ‘Sacramento’ jersey is our way of recognizing that support and saying thank you to the fans, businesses and community leaders who helped bring Major League Baseball to town,” A’s President Marc Badain said in the statement. “It’s been an unforgettable first season in West Sacramento, and this uniform is another way to celebrate the passion we’ve already felt throughout the community.”
The uniform will be worn during every Saturday home game as part of the team’s “Sacramento Saturday” promotional series, “a series of fan-focused promotions and community appreciation nights.” Players may also opt to wear the jerseys during other games at home or on the road, according to MLB.com.
“I love it,” first baseman Nick Kurtz said of the jersey. “We’re not the Sacramento A’s, we’re just the Athletics, so it’s cool to give our home for these next couple years some recognition for us being here. I love seeing that. I thought it was a really cool thing to do.”
The replica jersey will be available for purchase in the spring, both online and at the team store. Fans attending the April 4 home game against the Houston Astros will receive one as a promotional item.
The team is slated to remain in West Sacramento through the 2027 season, which the option for a fourth year, as their new stadium in Las Vegas is constructed.
Despite the new lettering across the front, the name “Sacramento” is unlikely to follow the team anywhere else.

“It would be nice if they called themselves the Sacramento A’s,” former Mayor Darrell Steinberg told the San Francisco Chronicle in February. “But I think maybe over time, they’ll want Sacramento as part of the name because they’ll see what we are about.”
Sacramento Kings and River Cats owner Vivek Ranadivé, who helped bring the Athletics to Sutter Health Park, had also encouraged Major League Baseball to consider incorporating the city’s name during the club’s temporary stay.
The team had added a Sacramento patch featuring the Tower Bridge to its 2025 uniform — a nod, but not a name change.
