Prep football: Folsom has another dangerous Jake

Folsom High School lost record-setting quarterback Jake Browning to college, but they haven’t lost much behind center. Bulldogs senior quarterback Jake Jeffrey has passed for 1,151 yards and 15 touchdowns with just two interceptions while rushing for 116 yards and two scores. Jeffrey leads Folsom (4-0) – on a state-leading 36-game non-playoff winning streak – into a Sierra Foothill League opener Friday at No. 5 Granite Bay.

Move over, River Cats, there’s another baseball team coming to the region. The Great West League awarded a franchise to Sacramento, which will begin play next summer at refurbished Renfree Field.
