Inderkum has dominated the Tri-County Conference like no other area high school football team. So on Friday night in Yuba City, the Tigers weren’t about to let upstart River Valley, enjoying one of its best seasons of football in school history, spoil their amazing run.
With Derrick Henderson rushing for three touchdowns, Raekwon Turner rushing for two more and Trajon Cotton throwing a 48-yard touchdown pass, the No. 5 Tigers routed the No. 17 Falcons 48-21.
The win extended the league winning streak to 19 for the Tigers (8-0, 4-0). They also have won 46 of their last 47 league games as they seek their eighth league title since 2007.
Clarence Pierson had two rushing touchdowns for River Valley (6-2, 3-1).
No. 2 Elk Grove 63, Pleasant Grove 13 in Elk Grove – Ryan Robards rushed for 227 yards and six touchdowns, five in the first half, and Jayden Machado passed for 112 yards with touchdown strikes to Jonas McMillen and Damario McLean as the Thundering Herd beat the Eagles (3-4, 2-2) in a Delta League contest. Elk Grove (7-0, 4-0) had 482 yards of offense in scoring 63 points in successive weeks, beating Jesuit 63-14 last week.
No. 3 Oak Ridge 24, No. 16 Del Oro 21 in El Dorado Hills – Ian Book ran for a four-yard touchdown and Alex Voege a three-yard score as the Trojans (7-1, 4-0) rallied over the Golden Eagles (2-5, 1-3) in the Sierra Foothill League game. Del Oro took a 12-10 lead early in the fourth quarter on Camrion Davis’ seven-yard touchdown run. Bryan Willhide booted 40- and 31-yard field goals for Del Oro. Book also threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Brock Martin, and Nick Hulsing had a 30-yard field goal for the Trojans.
No. 4 Grant 21, Monterey Trail 6 in Del Paso Heights – Deshawn Collins rushed for 185 yards on 16 carries and scored three touchdowns as the Pacers (5-2, 2-2) defeated the Mustangs (4-3, 2-2) and remained in the Delta League title chase. Mike Green ran for 87 yards on 15 carries, and David Moala and Jemel Johnson combined for 19 tackles for Grant.
No. 7 Granite Bay 24, Nevada Union 14 in Grass Valley – Kyle Kraft rushed for a touchdown and threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Scott Henrichs, and Henrichs also booted a 30-yard field goal to lead the Grizzles (4-3, 1-2) over the Miners in the Sierra Foothill League game.
No. 8 Rocklin 38, No. 19 Woodcreek 3 in Rocklin – Evyn Holtz rushed for four touchdowns and caught a 71-yard touchdown pass from William Floyd as the Thunder (5-2, 2-1) defeated the Timberwolves (5-2, 1-2) in the Sierra Foothill League game.
No. 10 Placer 52, Foothill 26 in Foothill Farms – Jared Halbert rushed for three touchdowns, Marcus Ante threw a 46-yard scoring strike to Derek Haney, and Owen Scott had a 26-yard touchdown run as the Hillmen (7-0, 2-0) defeated the Mustangs (1-6, 0-2) in the Pioneer Valley League contest.
No. 11 Sacramento 67, Valley 0 at Cosumnes River College – A week after becoming the second player in Sac-Joaquin Section history to eclipse the 10,000-yard career passing mark on this very field, Caden Voges tossed four touchdown passes in the Metropolitan Conference rout of the Vikings (0-7, 0-4). Elijah Trosclair had three receiving touchdowns, Tariq Hollandsworth ran for two scores, and E.J. Larry scored twice on defense for the Dragons (4-3, 4-0).
No. 12 Bear River 41, Colfax 14 in Lake of the Pines – Austin Baze rushed for three touchdowns and Jason Voter threw touchdown passes of 47 yards to Toran Maronic and 18 yards to Dave Mastrella as the Bruins (7-0, 2-0) defeated the Falcons (2-5, 0-2) in the Pioneer Valley League game.
No. 13 Del Campo 48, Ponderosa 13 in Shingle Springs – Ben Purcell completed 27 of 38 passes for 501 yards and six touchdowns, two each to Manny Valcarcel and Tariq Mitchell, and also rushed for a touchdown as the Cougars (6-1, 4-0) belted the Bruins (1-6, 0-4) in the Capital Valley Conference game.
No. 15 Whitney 56, Oakmont 25 in Roseville – Hunter Rodrigues completed 25 of 31 passes for 255 yards and four touchdowns, all in the first half, and after catching a touchdown pass, backup quarterback Josh Daniels threw for four touchdowns, including three to Brandon McCarter as the Wildcats (5-2, 3-1) rolled over the Vikings (2-5, 0-4) in the Capital Valley Conference game. Will Brochini intercepted a pass, and Royce Haight and Antonio Cassidy recovered fumbles for Whitney.
No. 18 Burbank 69, McClatchy 0 at Burbank High School – The Titans (4-3, 4-0) jumped out to a 55-0 halftime lead and continued to entertain their homecoming crowd by coasting past the Lions (3-4, 2-2) in the Metro Conference contest.
Highlands 58, San Juan 0 in Citrus Heights – Isaiah Tenette passed for 228 yards and five touchdowns and he ran for 139 and three scores to spark the Sierra Delta League rout over the Spartans (3-4, 1-2). Kentrell Turner had 124 receiving yards and four touchdowns for the Scots (5-2, 2-1).
Jesuit 36, Sheldon 0 at Sheldon HS – Sophomore Lorenzo Burkes rushed for 11- and one-yard touchdowns, and Dalvin Jamal-Milton, Calvin Brownholtz and Lucas Thayer added touchdown runs as the Marauders (4-3, 2-2) topped the Huskies (2-5, 0-4) in the Delta League game. Jesuit’s Beau Bisharat left the game early with an injury.
Christian Brothers 49, Rio Americano 26 at Del Campo HS – Jamarri Jackson rushed for touchdowns of 60, 44, 10 and four yards to lead the Falcons (6-1, 2-0) over the Raiders (0-7, 0-2) in the Capital Athletic League game.
Yuba City 55, Pioneer 21 in Yuba City – Jonathan Rodriguez rushed for touchdowns of 27, nine and two yards, and Alex Rowe, Brenndon Schafer-Shalowitz and Maddux Bebout had rushing touchdowns of 50 yards or more to lead the Honkers (3-5, 3-1) past the Patriots (2-5, 1-2) in the Tri-County Conference game. Elijah Fields had a 92-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and also threw a 37-yard touchdown pass to Danny Byrd for Pioneer.
Union Mine 70, Galt 34 in Galt – Austin Rigsby rushed for four touchdowns, and Brody Pearman rushed for two scores and threw a touchdown pass as the Miners (5-2, 2-0) defeated the Warriors (3-4, 0-1) in the Sierra Valley Conference contest
Valley Christian 34, Delta 12 in North Highlands – Tyler Stoever returned an interception 51 yards for a touchdown and also rushed for a two-yard score, and Casey DeMello threw a 55-yard touchdown pass to Will Weiland as the Lions (1-5, 1-1) defeated the Saints (2-5, 0-1) in the Sacramento Metropolitan Athletic League game.
Lincoln 42, Center 35 (OT) in Lincoln – Elijah Cummings rushed 10 yards for a touchdown, then Zack Eutsey intercepted a pass to preserve the win in overtime as the Fighting Zebras (5-2, 2-0) rallied to beat the Cougars (4-3, 0-2) in the Pioneer Valley League contest.
