A’s have sold out season tickets for first year in Sacramento. What about single-game seats?
It remains to be seen if the Athletics will be successful during their time in West Sacramento, but baseball fans in their new market appear to be showing solid interest.
The A’s announced Friday they sold out their allotment of full-season tickets for the 2025 season, including their premium seats that include access to club areas, parking, food and beverage, which sold out in August.
“We are excited to have a strong season ticket base in West Sacramento. We are thrilled with the overwhelming support and enthusiasm we’ve received,” the team said in a statement.
The premium tickets required commitments for the team’s three-year stay in Sacramento while the standard season tickets did not. The team said single-game tickets will go on sale in late January and that it will announce details at a later date.
Additionally, single-game luxury suites will become available next Thursday. Suites can hold 20 to 100 people.
The team did not disclose the total number of season tickets sold for their home games at Sutter Health Health Park, the minor league home they will share with the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats. The ballpark that opened in 2000 has a 14,000-person capacity: 10,000 fixed seats, plus a grass area beyond the right field wall that can hold another 4,000.
Ticketholders have been told it’s not guaranteed postseason games would be held at Sutter Health Park despite the ballpark being renovated to accommodate Major League Baseball. It’s believed the stadium does not have the required amenities for what MLB calls “jewel events” such as playoff or All-Star games, which include adequate space for media, press conferences and television trucks. It’s unclear where postseason games would be played if not at Sutter Health Park, though ticket holders have been told they will have priority access.
The A’s have recently worked to ingratiate themselves in their new surroundings. Core players such as Brent Rooker, JJ Bleday, Lawrence Butler and JP Sears, along with manager Mark Kotsay, recently sat courtside during the Sacramento Kings’ double-overtime win over the Miami Heat on Monday, and the team visited Mariemont Elementary School in Arden Arcade to surprise students on Tuesday.
The A’s first game in West Sacramento will be March 31 against the Chicago Cubs. The team is planning to play three seasons, with an option for a fourth, in the capital region after leaving Oakland while their $1.75 billion stadium in Las Vegas gets built. They plan to open the domed ballpark in 2028.
