Five former Kings drafted in new 3-on-3 league
Some former Kings are headed to a brand new league this summer.
Formed earlier this year, the BIG3 basketball league filled its eight teams during Sunday’s draft in Las Vegas. Five former Kings players were selected, headlined by No. 1 pick Rashad McCants, who played for Sacramento in 2009.
Reggie Evans (played for the Kings in 2014-15), Maurice Evans (2004-05), Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf (1996-98) and Dominic McGuire (2010) were also picked in the 24-player draft.
Additionally, ex-Kings Mike Bibby, Cuttino Mobley, Bonzi Wells and Jason Williams will serve as captains or co-captains in the 3-on-3 league.
With its inaugural season set to tip off June 25, BIG3 was conceived by actor and rapper Ice Cube and announced this January. The teams will travel to different cities to face off during a 10-week season.
The BIG3 tweeted all eight teams’ rosters.
