Sacramento Kings unveil preseason schedule for 2025-26 NBA season

The Sacramento Kings unveiled their 2025-26 NBA preseason schedule Monday as the team prepares for its first full season under coach Doug Christie.

The Kings will play the first of four preseason games when they host the Toronto Raptors on Oct. 8 at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.

The Kings will then travel north to play the Portland Trail Blazers on Oct. 10 at Moda Center. The Kings will face the Los Angeles Clippers at home on Oct. 15 before heading south to play the Los Angeles Lakers in their final preseason game Oct. 17 at Crypto.com Arena.

The Kings went 40-42 to finish ninth in the Western Conference last season. They lost in the play-in tournament for the second year in a row, failing to reach the playoffs for the 18th time in 19 seasons.

The team is now under the direction of general manager Scott Perry, who was hired to replace Monte McNair, with Christie leading the coaching staff. The Kings went 27-24 with Christie at the helm as interim coach after Mike Brown was fired in December.

The roster features new addition Dennis Schroder along with Domantas Sabonis, Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Malik Monk, Keegan Murray and Keon Ellis. The Kings recently acquired Schroder, who will take over as the team’s starting point guard, in a sign-and-trade deal with the Detroit Pistons.

Fans will also be eager to see rookie first-round draft pick Nique Clifford and second-round pick Maxime Raynaud.

The Kings are coming off an impressive run to the NBA Summer League finals. They suffered an 83-78 loss to the Charlotte Hornets in Sunday’s championship game.

Training camp will begin Sept. 30. The regular season is set to begin Oct. 21.
