Talk about ‘paid vacation’: Job will pay $10,000 a month to live in Cancun and blog it
Spending six months vacationing at luxury resorts would typically cost you a fortune.
Unless that was your job.
Soon, for one lucky applicant, it could be. Cancun.com, a travel website for the popular vacation spot on the coast of Mexico, is now accepting applications for the position of CEO – Cancun Experience Officer – and is offering $10,000 a month for the six-month deployment, with hotel stays and other expeditions paid for.
As Fortune reports, it’s not just a vacation. The incumbent will write social media and blog posts, as well as produce videos. Still, there will be a fair share of adventuring involved.
The posting, announced Wednesday in a press release, claims that no experience is required, and the company wants “an outgoing, authentic and dynamic individual (or team) to represent the amazing destination of Cancun.”

“It can be somebody who is just very passionate about the destination and wants to go out there and document what it has to offer,” Cancun.com general manager Chad Meyerson told Money magazine.
The candidate who earns the position will live in Cancun for six months, from March to August without interruption, according to the press release.
The deadline to apply is Dec. 17; candidates will be narrowed down to a list of 100, who will be “contact in December with their next mission,” the top five of whom will be announced Jan. 17, according to the press release. The “winner” of the position will be chosen and announced on Jan. 31.
