Five exhibits to see on Second Saturday art walk in Sacramento

Rogelio Manzo’s recent work, “Tanatos,” is included in “Skull,” a lively group show that comes along just in time for Haloween. Curated by Pamela Skinner and Gwenna Howard of the now closed and much missed Skinner Howard Contemporary Art, the show is up with a continuing exhibition of works by Michael Bishop and Lynn Criswell at artspace1616, 1616 Del Paso Boulevard. Sparrow Gallery

“Sunflowers,” a mixed media work by retired Cosumnes River College art professor Margaret Woodcock, is included in a show of recent works inspired by her new home in Port Townsend, Wash. It’s up at Sparrow Gallery, 1021 R Street. (916) 382-4894.

“Love,” an oil painting on paper by Jennifer Pochinski, whose bold work carries on the tradition of Bay Area figurative painting, is up in her strong solo show at b. sakata garo, 923 Twentieth Street. (916) 447-4276.

Viewpoint Gallery

Sharon Bussert’s evocative photograph “Fog House” is included in a preview exhibition of works by highly collected photographers that will be auctioned off on Nov. 4 in a fundraiser for the Viewpoint Photographic Art Center. The show is up at Viewpoint Gallery, 2015 J Street. (916) 441-2341.
